Machinations may break down or require maintenance services. S&IB provides a range of services pertaining to repair maintenance utilities. Our professionals maintain a Planned Preventive Maintenance or PPM checklist that documents the necessary maintenance tasks that have to be performed. Details of the machinations are also recorded.
Role of PPM checklist in plumbing services & other maintenance tasks
A PPM checklist offers important data of the clients’ infrastructure. Inspection dates and schedules are kept. Technicians often also keep the details of the important components of the plumbing system like water heaters, plumbing fixtures, pipes, drains etc. Keeping tabs on the checklist for corrosion, wear & tears, rusting of plumbing objects. Regular plumbing maintenance becomes a lot easier with the PPM checklist.

What is the difference between reactive and preventive maintenance?
Both the services are provided by S&IB and are covered within the PPM checklist as much as possible. Reactive maintenance mostly incurs inspection and repair works of an existing damage in an equipment. This kind of repairs are generally done at a short notice in the face of an impromptu glitch. The main reason behind the repairs is to improve the functionality of the equipment and restore it to its original working condition as much as possible.
However, experts suggest reactive maintenance should be kept at the bare minimum and should be performed on non-critical equipment. This is because it has a significant risk of safety. It goes without saying any damaged equipment should be replaced rather than repaired, unless absolutely necessary. Expert consultation is required to be employed in certain instances.
Earthing tests may need to be done before starting a repairing process. Preventive maintenance on the other hand is an exclusive maintenance activity that ensures the smooth running of an equipment or system. Chances of impromptu failure or breakdown of any system could be curbed because of it.

It also protects equipment from high voltages and lightning. - How to run tests for earthing?
There are four safe tests that can be run to check earthing. These are Injection Test, Three Point Resistance Test, Loop Impedance Test, Soil Resistivity Test and Continuity Test. The effects on the system for all these tests are live. So, safety and precautions of the equipment should be prior checked before running the earthing tests.
